sweet and spicy shrimp

ingredients

  • 2lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1T oil, for frying
  • 1 fresno chili pepper, finely diced
  • 1 jalapeño, finely diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lime, juice of
  • 1t white sugar
  • 1/2C soy sauce
  • 1t chili powder
  • salt, to taste
  • 1t black pepper, ground
  • 2T butter
  • 2T sesame oil

directions

  1. Heat a large pan over medium heat with the frying oil. Sauté the shrimp for about a minute on each side or until lightly browned. Set aside.

    2lbs shrimp, 1T oil
  2. In the same pan add the peppers, sugar, garlic, lime juice, soy sauce, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and butter. Sauté for 5 minutes until the garlic and peppers are softened.

  3. Add the shrimp back to the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened. Remove from the heat and add the sesame oil. Stir to combine.

    2T sesame oil

  • You can use any type of chili pepper in this recipe. Adjust to your preferred heat level.
